About PJP

We are a recruitment and HR firm working with US employers. We fill permanent roles, place contract workers, run hiring functions as an outsourced service, and build the process that growing companies need underneath all of it.

What we believe about hiring

Most hiring problems are process problems. Roles that stay open for months usually do not have a sourcing problem — they have a definition problem, a compensation problem, or an internal process losing candidates to faster competitors. We diagnose before we sell.

Structure beats instinct. Structured interviews with defined criteria predict performance better than conversations, and they take less time. The change costs nothing but preparation, and most companies have not made it.

Speed is a joint problem. A search moves at the speed of the client's feedback. We say this before an engagement rather than explaining it afterwards.

Candidates are people you will meet again. The candidate you reject today is a hiring manager in four years. How a process treats people is not a soft issue.

How we work

We diagnose first. Before proposing a search, we establish whether you have a sourcing problem, a process problem, or a compensation problem. Only the first is one we should be paid to solve.

We present few candidates, well argued. A shortlist is three to five people with written notes on why each is there. Not a stack of forwarded resumes.

We tell you when you need less. Under roughly ten hires a year, contingency beats building a function. Over thirty, the reverse. We publish the arithmetic rather than obscuring it.

One named consultant stays on your account.

Our specialisms

Six areas, and we say no outside them:

Accounting and finance · Operations and supply chain · Administrative and office support · Light industrial and manufacturing · Healthcare administration, non-clinical · Customer service and sales support

Levels from coordinator to director, with retained search for above that.

An agency that claims to cover everything competes on price, because it has nothing else to compete on. For broader reference, consult U.S. Department of Labor hiring resources.
